Barack Obama caught a pregnant woman as she came close to fainting during his speech on the steps of the White House.
The president was delivering a speech on Affordable Care Act, surrounded by a group of Americans who had successfully enrolled in new health insurance plans.
Karmel Allison, who has had Type 1 diabetes since was nine, began to sway and take deep breaths as Obama spoke.
But as she began to tip backwards the president held out his arm to catch her, joking: "This is what happens when I talk too long."
He reassured Ms Allison, saying "I've got you, you're okay", before she was escorted up the steps and out of the Rose Garden.
Ms Allison and her husband later tweeted to thank the president for his help.
