Downton Abbey scoops Golden Globes nomination

ITV's hit period drama Downton Abbey joins leading US dramas Breaking Bad, The Goodwife, House of Cards and Masters of Sex in this year's Golden Globes nominations for Best TV Drama.

It is the third year in a row the show has been nominated - winning the coveted gong in 2011.

Veteran British actresses Kate Winslet, Emma Thompson, Judi Dench will go head-to-head for the Best Actress in a Motion Picture Drama gong, alongside US actress Sandra Bullock and Australian star Cate Blanchett.
