Held on the night before Saint Anthony's, patron of animals, the event is a tradition that dates back 500 years.

People rode their horses through the narrow cobblestone streets of the village to "purify" the animals with the smoke of the bonfires.

The animals jump to the sound of beating drums until midnight, when the flames are used for a barbecue feast that lasts until dawn.
