There are a number of relatively new faces in the upcoming Star Wars film, including an almost completely unheard-of young British actress.

Possibly the most recognisable face will be Adam Driver, who is best known for playing Adam Sackler in the HBO comedy-drama Girls.

Driver is also confirmed as a cast member of Martin Scorsese's upcoming film Silence.

Adam will be joined by Andy Serkis, who played Gollum in the Lord of the Rings trilogy and is reprising this role in the prequel series The Hobbit.

Rising star Oscar Isaac starred alongside Ryan Gosling in Drive but is more than just an actor.

He sang all his own songs when playing the title character in the Cohen Brothers' latest film, Inside Llewyn Davis.

Veteran Swedish actor Max von Sydow was one of a number of actors to have played Bond baddie Blofeld - his version coming in Never Say Never Again.

He starred in eleven Ingmar Bergman films - including the Seventh Seal - as well as playing Ming the Merciless in Flash Gordon.

Irish actor Domhnall Gleeson picked up a Tony Award nomination in 2006 for his part in the Broadway production The Lieutenant of Inishmore.

However, he may be better known to some as Bill Weasley in Harry Potter films The Deathly Hallows parts one and two.

Daisy Ridley is the biggest mystery among the new recruits - the relatively unknown British actress has had a handful of relatively small TV roles up until her major new role.

As fans sought to discover more about the new recruit a new Twitter account purporting to belong to the actress appeared - though there is no word as to whether it is legitimate.
