Lorry drags car 500m sideways down busy road in dramatic crash

An accident saw a freight lorry push a car about 500 meters down a busy road before passers-by waved down the truck driver to stop.

The lorry had suddenly veered across the road and bumped into a white car on its right side. The force of the crash made the car rotate 90 degrees and stop in front of the truck.

The accident occurred at a crossroad in the capital city of Urumqi on Sunday in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. But the truck driver said he was not aware of the accident and dragged the white car 500 metres forward before passers-by got him to stop.

The traffic police said the truck driver should take complete responsibility for the accident.

The driver said he was not aware of the accident. We found through experiment that there was indeed a blind angle.

The truck driver probably didn't see it, because the car and the driver's seat are relatively high, and the car is quite small.

Maybe he really didn't see it from that angle.
