Canadian singer Justin Bieber is being investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) over allegations of attempted robbery.
The incident is believed to have taken place at around 10pm on Monday night, and was reported to police on Tuesday.
"He has been accused of attempted robbery," Officer Rosario Herrera of the Los Angeles Police Department told the Los Angeles Times.
Police said "the victim has been interviewed," but Justin Bieber has not been "detained, arrested or questioned".
Bieber, 20, tried to take a woman’s phone in San Fernando Valley when he noticed she was about to take photos of him on her mobile phone, she told TMZ.
The incident happened when she spotted Bieber and his entourage playing mini golf in Sherman Oaks Castle Park, she said.
The 'Baby' singer was arrested at the end of January in Miami Beach after what police described as an illegal street drag race.
Bieber also faces charges of resisting arrest and driving with an expired licence.
He is set to face trial on July 7.
