A 31-year-old man is recovering in hospital in Chile after the lift he was travelling in broke and soared 30 floors in just 15 seconds.
The lift crashed into the roof of the building in Bustamante Park in Providencia, Chile, on Friday.
José Vergara Acevedo, who entered the lift on the first floor, can be seen frantically pushing buttons inside the elevator as it gathers pace.
Emergency services were able to rescue him from the lift and he was taken to hospital with serious head and leg injuries, Emol Chile reported.
The building was reportedly finished just eight months ago.
