A five-year-old girl rendered inconsolable by the thought that her cute baby brother will one day grow up has captured the hearts of the American public.
With tears streaming down her cheeks, little Sadie Miller explains to her parents: "I don't want him to grow up. He's so cute!"
"Oh, you are so cute - I love your cute little smiles!" she wails on camera.
Changing the subject from the pains of ageing to inevitable mortality, Sadie adds: "And I don't want to die when I'm a hundred!"
The video of her struggles quickly went viral after her uncle uploaded it to YouTube on Monday and the clip has been featured on multiple US news outlets.
“She’s cried about not wanting to get older herself in the past, but this was the first time she was upset about her brother,” Ryan Miller, her father, told Time magazine.
Sadie's brother, three-month-old Carson, smiles and giggles throughout the video, apparently unaware of his sister's anguish.
"Oh my gosh I want him to stay this little," Sadie reiterates.
