Timelapse of Glacier National Park ruined after Marmot selfie

An unsuspecting marmot ruined a Greenpeace video campaign raising awareness of global warming and melting glaciers, after it inadvertently took a selfie with the organisation's Go Pro camera.

Greenpeace USA had set out to make a timelapse video at Glacier National Park in order to highlight how oil drilling affects the landscape.

Instead, a curious little marmot had its 15 minutes of fame, licking the camera and hiding the landscape behind its fur face.

Writing on Facebook, Greenpeace USA said:

But let’s be fair about this. This marmot took a minute out of its busy day to show us some love. It’s time for us to do the same. Global warming is shrinking marmot habitat — alpine tundra. Help protect his home from climate change.

Though we didn’t capture the timelapse video of Glacier National Park that we intended to, we captured something much cooler…Marmot Love.
