A British expat who became a US television host has been shot dead by his son-in-law at his home in Louisiana.
Scott Rogers, 52, a former dance school teacher from Suffolk, was found shot dead in Baton Rouge, on Wednesday.
Police said that it appeared that the man, named in US reports as Mathew Hodgkinson - who is thought to be his son-in-law and also his former lover - had killed the local talk show host Mr Rogers before turning the gun on himself in a failed suicide attempt.
Iberville sheriff Brett Stassi said: "This looks to be a murder and attempted suicide.
"Rogers was found with a single gun shot wound to the head and Mathew was on the floor with a gun shot wound to the head."
Before moving to the US, Mr Rogers founded and was a principal of the former Academy of Dancing and Performing Arts in Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk.
