A suspected murderer who was tasered by police and later died was found consuming the body parts of a woman in Welsh hotel, leaving her with horrific facial injuries, according to local reports.
Wales News Service reports that security staff found Matthew Williams, 34, attacking the 22-year-old victim in a room of the Sirhowy Arms Hotel in Argoed near Blackwood, South Wales.
Police arrived at the scene and tasered the suspect, who became "unresponsive" moments later and died.
The agency reports that Williams - who it says was released from prison two weeks ago - had invited the woman back to the hotel for a drink before attacking her in the early hours of this morning.
The Independent Police Complaints Commission says it is investigating the circumstances around the man's death after a referral from Gwent Police.
Williams had recently served half of a five-year prison sentence for a violent attack on a partner, Wales News Service reports.
Gwent Police said a murder investigation is currently underway into the death of the woman.
