The teenager was reportedly trapped underwater for several minutes before rescuers managed to free him and administer CPR.
He was in a critical condition on Friday.
Four other people were also on board when the chopper came down, two of whom - a 50-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman - were taken to hospital, where they were said to be in a stable condition.
There were no details available about the other two, including the pilot.
One eyewitness, Shawn Winrich, began filming as the helicopter seemed to be struggling as it approached the coastline.
Video footage shows the craft crash down into the water, before cutting off as Mr Winrich is heard shouting for helping and running to the aid of those on board.
"My prayers best regards and wishes go to the families involved," he said.
