Tributes are being paid to a four-year-old girl decapitated in a "random" killing in Taiwan yesterday.
The toddler had been with her mother when she was attacked outside a subway station in the country's capital Taipei.
According to reports, the girl's mother was unable to prevent the attack, which was carried out with a meat clever shortly before midday.
A 33-year-old man was arrested by police, and was later seen being mobbed by angry demonstrators.
The man is said to have attacked the girl when he grabbed her whilst she rode a bicycle.
Floral tributes have been laid near to the scene of her death.
Speaking to reporters, the victim's mother said: "I saw the suspect slashing my daughter with a cleaver. I immediately grabbed him but I could not pull him away".
