An 82-year-old woman was the victim of a sex attack in broad daylight in Buckinghamshire, police said.

The police have described the assault on the pensioner as "horrendous".

The woman was attacked around 1pm on Friday in Bletchley, Milton Keynes, as she walked along a pathway near Buckingham Road, Thames Valley Police said.

A man pushed the woman to the ground and attacked her before walking off.

The suspect is described as in his early to mid-20s, white with a large build.

He was wearing a black beanie hat, black jacket and black trousers and carrying a black rucksack over both shoulders.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

I would like to speak to anyone who may have seen or heard anything unusual on the redway running alongside to Buckingham Road, behind Windmill Hill Drive.

I would particularly like to speak to a man who was walking a dog, believed to be a white dog, possibly a husky, along the redway prior to the offence.

I would also like to speak to a man, about 60-years-old, seen picking blackcurrants near to the scene.
