Tonight England continue their preparations for this summer's World Cup by taking on Italy at Wembley which you can see live on ITV.

England secured their place in the finals after finishing top of their group in the qualifying stage.

Italy however crashed out after being beaten by Sweden in a play-off last November. It was a major shock for the Azzurri who last won the trophy in 2006 and were finalists of the European Championships in 2012.

England will be looking to continue a good run of form having held a stellar defensive record in qualifying. They haven't conceded in their last three internationals facing the likes of Germany, Brazil and most recently the Netherlands.

The Italians are in a transitional period having seen some of their most senior players retire from the international game over the last few years.

Despite this they still possess the defensive steel of Gianluigi Buffon and Giorgio Chiellini who initially retired after their play-off disappointment but have since made a U-turn.

In attack Italy have some promising players; Napoli's Jorginho is rumoured to be courting interest from Premier League sides, Andrea Belotti is likely to swap Torino for a club competing at the highest level and Lazio's Ciro Immobile has scored 24 goals in 26 games in Serie A this season.

After tonight England manager Gareth Southgate has two more friendlies before his squad board the plane to Russia.

The uncapped Nick Pope, James Tarkowski, Alfie Mawson and Lewis Cook played no part in the victory in Amsterdam on Friday. Therefore it remains to be seen whether the former Middlesbrough boss is done experimenting with his first choice eleven.

Southgate has confirmed that Jack Butland will start in goal, taking the place of the impressive Jordan Pickford. Jack Wilshere didn't train yesterday and isn't expected to be on the bench for the Three Lions.

You can see the game LIVE on ITV and the ITVHub tonight with coverage starting from 7:30pm with Mark Pougatch, Ian Wright, Lee Dixon and Slaven Bilic.

Highlights will be available the same evening at 11:05pm on ITV and the ITVHub.
