Aide 'will help police'

One of the Prime Minister's closest aides has said he'll cooperate with the Police over renewed allegations he sanctioned phone tapping of politicians and celebrities when he was editor of the News of the World.

The Police say they are looking into what a former News of the World journalist told the New York Times but say they won't be going "on a wild goose chase".

Labour has just been granted an emergency question to the current Home Secretary as a raft of people, who think they might have been bugged, demand to know what the Police know.

Number 10 said, this morning, the Prime Minister was "completely happy" with the job Mr Coulson is doing.
