Peregrine falcon lays an egg

The peregrine falcons are nesting on the spire of Norwich Cathedral Photo: The Hawk and Owl Trust

The birds became internet stars after a webcam was installed by the Hawk and Owl Trust in 2011, allowing viewers to watch their every move.

A male peregrine first appeared at the cathedral a few years ago and was then joined by a female. Staff from the charity are hoping for a successful breeding season after the eggs laid last year didn't hatch.

The Hawk and Owl Trust will be running a watch point at the cathedral for people to view the birds through telescopes during the Easter holidays, starting on Saturday 31st March.

You can also watch the falcons via the webcam on the Hawk and Owl Trust's website: www.hawkandowl.org
