East Cambridgeshire has "best quality of life"

East Cambridgeshire has ranked top as the best place to live in rural Britain. A national survey by Halifax says good health, low unemployment and the amount of sunshine they see give it the best quality of life. Uttlesford in Essex and South Cambridgeshire also made the top ten.

Last year's winners, South Cambridgeshire, takes third place in the list. East Hertfordshire is fourth. Uttlesford in Essex is in eighth. Rutland is in ninth place and Chiltern in Buckinghamshire is in tenth place.
