Company wins Milton Keynes casino contract

A successful bidder has been announced to build and run a £10 million casino in Milton Keynes.

The decision comes six years after plans for the casino were first given the go ahead.

Milton Keynes Council decided on Thursday that it was granting the contract to the casino operator Aspers.

The £10 million pound investment in the city will take place within the Xscape complex in central Milton Keynes.

The council said the winning bid was judged to provide the best all round package to Milton Keynes.

A substantial annual donation of at least £500K for the life of the casino will be made to the council annually in order to support local communities with new initiatives.

The council will become a stakeholder in the financial success of the venture.

It is expected that jobs and training opportunities will beprovided through Milton Keynes Job Centre Plus and Milton Keynes College.

Jobs will also be created during the construction phase ofthe casino and after it is built.
