More than 100 people have packed into Shepreth village hall in Cambridgeshire this morning to try and save a village pub.
The Plough in Shepreth has been closed since January 2011 following an unsuccessful attempt to run it as a restaurant.
The owners of the pub, MPM Properties, now want to turn the building into houses. They say it's not viable as a business.
But villagers are angry at this decision and are campaigning to keep it open. They say a pub has been on the site where The Plough is now since the 17th century. And they've got the backing of South Cambridgeshire District Council.
The campaigners have even said they would consider buying they pub and running it for the community.
The planning inspector is hearing both sides of the argument at a meeting today.
