Row over dog mess
Cambridge city council has been accused of letting dog owners break the law at will.
Despite signs around the city warning owners they'll be charged £100 if they don't pick up their dogs mess - not one fine has been issued by the City Council in the last 5 years.
When questioned by ITV Anglia the Liberal democrat councillor in charge of Environmental issues told us that there were two problems.
- Firstly you need to catch the owner in the act of not picking up after their dog.
- Secondly following a risk assessment you need two officers to hand out a fine.Cambridge city council has been accused of letting dog owners break the law at will.
