Four injured paratroopers are preparing to set off on a 14 day trek across North Africa to raise funds for injured comrades and the families of those killed in action.
All four servicemen were injured in the ongoing conflict in Afghanistan. Two of the soldiers taking part in the trek have lost a leg below the knee and all, despite their injuries, are still active in the Regiment.
Mission Morocco 2012, as it's been named, comes at a time when new research shows that over half of all Britons do not think there is enough support for injured troops when they get home from duty, while over a quarter are simply unsure of what support they actually receive.
The paratroopers will set off from the Regiment's barracks in Colchester on Wednesday April 18 and they are hoping to raise £40,000.
