Essex County Cricket club are searching for a new overseas player for their Twenty-20 Cup campaign after Peter Siddle's withdrawal through injury.
The Australian fast bowler was due to play for Essex this summer. He made an early return from the Aussies' current tour of the West Indies after complaining of soreness in his lower-back. He requires a month of rest before starting a rehabilitation programme.
Essex head coach Paul Grayson said "We are very disappointed Peter can't make it to Essex following his injury. We understand that when we sign any overseas player that there is a risk of an injury or international duty so we now have to look at other options with a plan b for another overseas bowler''
Essex start their T-20 campaign on June 13 against Surrey at The Oval.
