Runners are braving the wind and rain in the first ever marathon to be held in Milton Keynes. It's taken 18 months to organise and has attracted runners from far and wide.
– Andy Hully, The Race Director
“There’s somebody coming as far as Australia, Finland, Italy, America, Canada, France, so they’re coming from all over the world. It’s going to be a fantastic day for Milton Keynes. 4,400 people set off from the CentreMK at 10am this morning. Hundreds of spectators have lined the route, trying to keep dry under their umbrellas. One runner told ITV Anglia these are not ideal weather conditions: "It's horrendous, horrendous, but it makes it more of a challenge!"
