Pilot suffers life-threatening injuries in crash
A man is in hospital in a critical condition after the plane he was flying crash-landed in a field near Royston in Hertfordshire.
The pilot, who is believed to be in his fifties, was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge after the light-aircraft came down in a field near Newnham Way in Ashwell.
The Air Accident Investigation Branch are at the scene where they are trying to find out what happened.
The pilot was flying a Mini-Max plane, which is made from wood and can fly at up to 80mph.
