It’s set to be the hottest weekend of the year so far and organisers of this year’s Southend airshow are hoping for bumper crowds along the seafront. Now in its 27th year it’s one of the largest displays in Europe. The Red Arrows won’t be performing this year but one of the star attractions will be the Blades aerobatic display team who are based at Sywell in Northamptonshire. Held for the first time in association with easyJet, the weekend displays will feature the daring Breitling Wingwalkers, Typhoon and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.
