The Lowestoft lifeboat crew were called to rescue a boat drifting 43 miles off the Suffolk coast last night. The boat had become stranded just after midnight when fishing nets got caught up in its propellor. It was so far offshore its distress signal had to be relayed to the coastguard via an oil rig and there were concerns because the boat was in busy shipping waters.
