Essex County Cricket coach Paul Grayson hopes his team can make the most of home advantage this season as their Friends Life T20 Cup campaign resumes tonight (June 20) against Kent.
It’ll be their first home game of the competition having opened with a 17 run defeat to Surrey at The Oval last Wednesday (June 13).
‘We know the Essex supporters love T20 cricket and we get good crowds here. But we need to play some good cricket to get them lively and making some good noise because we know this can be an awkward place for opposition teams to come to.
– Paul Grayson, Essex County Cricket Coach
"Last week was a bit of a disappointment against Surrey. We got ourselves in a good position to win that game by restricting them to 129, and we really thought we could chase those runs down. Unfortunately we fell short."**
