Letter could explain two Peterborough deaths

Police are investigating a chilling letter which seems to explain two deaths in Peterborough last weekend.

The 11-page document was sent to police and the Editor of the Peterborough Telegraph.

It was written by Roy Allison Senior who talks about plans to commit murder before taking his own life.

Mark Edwards, the Editor of the Peterborough Telegraph told us: "The post was lying on my desk waiting for me. It was the first letter I opened.

"The first impression was that it was a reader's letter and, of course, as soon as I read the first sentence I realised it was a great deal more than that."

Roy Allison Sr had run a martial arts club with his son, Roy Allison Jr, at the Bushfield Sports Centre in Peterborough. But Roy Jr died suddenly in March, shortly after his 28th birthday party.

The father blamed his son's best friend, Duncan Bell, believing he had supplied drugs that caused his son's death.

In his letter, Roy Allison Sr talks about taking matters into his own hands. It's believed he murdered Mr Bell, 36, at an address in Winyates, Orton Goldhay, this weekend.

Roy Allison Sr then appears to have hanged himself at Peterborough Crematorium.

Police say they're not looking for anyone else on connection with the two deaths.

The family of Mr Bell today released a statement. They described him as a "cheeky chappie" and** added "Some people make such a difference in our lives, Duncan was one of those people. By simply being who he was he made the world a better place."**
