Silverstone has said that everyone with a ticket for this afternoon's British Grand Prix will be able to get into the circuit.
Yesterday more the 20,00 fans were turned away as the grass car parks turned into a quagmire due to the heavy rain which has swept the region.
This morning organisers issued a statement which said:
Due to the extreme weather conditions we have been experiencing many of our grass car parks are now unusable.
We re parking cars bumper to bumper in hard standing car parks to maximise capacity and to ensure fans get in and enjoy the Formula 1 Santander British Grand Prix.
Delays are expected as extra time is being taken parking vehicles. One of the people caught up in the queues is Spaced and Star Trek star Simon Pegg, who tweeted about the traffic on his way to the venue this morning.Organisers are urging fans to use nearby park and ride facilities.
Camping facilities at the Northamptonshire circuit had also been hit by the deluge. Some enterprising fans have been turning roundabouts into makeshift campsites as seen in the image below.
