Plans for average speed cameras on A12 in Essex and Suffolk

Plans to introduce average speed cameras on what was once named 'Britain's worst road' are being considered by the Highways Agency.

The proposals for the A12, which is regularly hit by closures and lengthy delays, would see cameras installed at Hughes Corner in Suffolk and the Kelvedon Bypass in Essex.

It's hoped the changes would reduce the number of accidents on the stretch of road.
