The RSPCA is appealing for witnesses after a puppy was savagely beaten and dumped in Stevenage.
The five-month-old Staffordshire bull terrier puppy was found by a member of the public in Graveley Road on Monday who had seen a couple dumping the dog.
A spokesman for the RSPCA said the puppy had been seriously beaten and had suffered a broken jaw, missing teeth and severe skull trauma.
The puppy was treated at Walton Lodge Veterinary Surgery and the injuries suggest it had been kicked repeatedly.
Walton Lodge Veterinary Group are covering all the costs of the pup’s treatment, and it is understood the member of the public who found the puppy is offering him a new home.
The couple who were seen dumping the dog were believed to have been driving a blue BMW.
RSPCA trainee inspector Nicola O Brien said: “This poor puppy appears to have received horrific injuries as a result of being kicked and I am so shocked that he has been treated this way.
