Seal pup rescued from Great Yarmouth beach
A stranded common seal pup was rescued from the shorelineat Great Yarmouth.
Concerned holidaymakers spotted the pup and alertedthe nearby Sea Life Centre yesterday.
After making sure there was no adult seal nearby, staf from the centre carried it to the safety of the Sea Life quarantine unit.
Colleagues from the seal rescue facility at sister attraction HunstantonSea Life Sanctuary were alerted and a staff member was immediately dispatchedfrom Hunstanton to collect the pup and take it back for expert care and anynecessary veterinary treatment.
All being well it will then be looked after until fit and strong enoughto survive back in the wild, normally about three months hence.
