Two bodies have been found by police searching a river after a 13-year-old girl was found alone on a boat in the Norfolk Broads.
Norfolk Police said the bodies of a man and a woman were recovered between Salhouse Broad and Wroxham Broad in the Norfolk Broads this afternoon after a search was carried out by divers.
The alarm was raised after a member of the public called police at around 5pm yesterday concerned that a holiday hire boat had not been returned as arranged at the end of the week.
Police said the deaths are currently being treated as unexplained but officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
Police had been searching for the girl's parents since finding her alone on the vessel after it was located tied to a tree close to Salhouse Little Broad yesterday.
The teenager, who has been informed of the developments, spent the night in protective police custody.
She was being comforted by relatives tonight.
The boat has been recovered and returned to a boat yard at Horning where it continues to be examined and the river has been re-opened to boating traffic, police added.
