A woman found dead in the Norfolk Broads at the weekend, has been named as Annette Creegan, 49, from Mitcham in Surrey.
A Home Office post mortem yesterday revealed that she is likely to have died as a result of strangulation.
Her body - along with a man in his 40s - was found in the River Bure between Salhouse and Wroxham Broad on Sunday.
The man has been named locally as John Didier, an NHS worker from Surrey, originally from America. He died of drowning, but officers are investigating the possibility that an overdose may have contributed to his death.
The pair had been holidaying on the Norfolk Broads with Annette Creegan's 13-year-old girl daughter, who was found alone but unharmed on the boat.
Concerns were raised over the weekend after a local boat hire company reported that the boat had not been returned on time.
Norfolk Police continue to treat the deaths as a domestic incident and are not seeking anyone else in connection with it.
