Norfolk coast flood tests
Emergency flood procedures will be tested at caravan sites on the Norfolk coast on Monday 8th October.
The Environment Agency and King’s Lynn & West Norfolk Borough Council will be working together to prepare for flooding caused by high tides.
Environment Agency teams and Emergency Planning Officers from King’s Lynn & West Norfolk
Borough Council will be at Hunstanton, Heacham and Snettisham from 8:30am to 12:30pm to test the way they issue their alerts.
Alan Daniels, Operations Team Leader for the Environment Agency, said: “We have a duty to
exercise our procedures regularly to ensure that we are as prepared as possible should a real
emergency occur. We must ensure our teams are confident in their roles and that all equipment is fully operational and ready for action.”
The tests are part of a week long series of events called Norfolk Prepared Week.
