The RSPCA is appealing for information after a puppy was found with one ear cut off - in what is thought to have been a deliberate attack.
The puppy, which is only a few months old, was found abandoned on a street in Cambridge. She has been named Conker and is now being looked after by the Cromwell Veterinary Practice in Huntingdon.
She was first found wandering in the Fen Road area of Cambridge by a member of the public. The wound where her ear had been cut off was badly infected and she was taken to the Wood Green Animal Shelter at Godmanchester. The shelter are now appealing for anyone who saw what happened to come forward.
Rachael Day, a vet at the Cromwell practice, said it looks like the wound to Conker's head may have been made with scissors.
Having cared for her, Rachael is now thinking of adopting Conker once she is well enough to be given a new home.
