Fourteen people were involved in a crash on the A14 this morning. It happened shortly after 9am just before Junction 26 of the A14 westbound. No one was seriously hurt.
Police say eight vehicles were involved and three people were slightly injured.
Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service sent a fire engine from Papworth and St Neots, along with another fire engine and a rescue vehicle from Huntington. Firefighters had to free one person. They were taken to Hinchingbrooke Hospital with minor injuries.
The accident caused long delays on the A14 westbound between Junction 31 M11/A428 (Girton/Cloverleaf interchange) and Junction 25 Rideaway (Hemingford Abbotts). It fully reopened at 11.30am. It also closed the M11 Northbound between Junction 13 / A1303 (Cambridge/Madingley) and Junction 14 / A14 (Girton/Cloverleaf interchange) for an hour.
Police have told ITV Anglia that the delay in reopening the A14 was down to the large number of vehicles that had to be recovered.
