Norwich City's first meeting with Paul Lambert since their former boss moved to Aston Villa ended in a 1-1 draw, leaving both clubs hovering just above the Premier League relegation zone. But, after playing much of the second half against ten men, Norwich may view it as a missed opportunity.
In the Championship, Peterborough Utd moved out of the relegation zone with a 3-0 win over Derby County, but Ipswich Town are now four points adrift at the foot of the table, after a 3-0 defeat at home to Sheffield Wednesday.
Stevenage would have gone top of League One with a win over Swindon Town. Instead, Boro's 4-0 defeat was their heaviest since promotion to the Football League. MK Dons got back to winning ways, 3-0 at Scunthorpe Utd, while Arsenal loan players Craig Eastmond and Sanchez Watt both scored for Colchester Utd in their 2-2 draw at Shrewsbury.
In League Two, Southend Utd and York City played out a goalless draw at Roots Hall, while Northampton Town's 2-0 win at home to Port Vale was soured by Alex Nicholls suffering a broken leg in scoring the Cobblers' opening goal.
