Hughton on Hoolahan

Norwich City manager Chris Hughton says the new contract signed by WesHoolahan was 'well earned'.The Republic of Ireland midfielder put pen to paper on a 'new andimproved' deal ahead of City's 2-1 win over Wigan.Hoolahan made the first and scored the second as the Canaries extendedtheir Premier League unbeaten run to ten games, taking them to 7th inthe table.Speaking afterwards Hughton said,

The only way you can earn contracts is by performing and performing well, and Wes has certainly done that.'I'm probably more pleased for Wes because I think with all players Idon't think it was any question about his future, I don't think therewas any question about leaving here.'He never showed any desire to want to leave, it was all about gettinga longer deal for himself. We're delighted about that and I'm reallypleased for him.'He's in very good form at the moment and he's earned it not only in the time that he's been here this season, but in the time that he's been with the football club'.
