The most mistletoe growing in Britain is now found in Cambridge.
Experts say more of the Christmas favourite grows in the city than anywhere else in the UK.
Mistletoe has traditionally been grown in orchards in Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Gloucestershire where well spaced apple trees provide ideal growing conditions.
But with many of these orchards now closed the plant is resurfacing in Cambridgeshire.
New findings published this week say a change to warmer summers and colder winters is causing the mistletoe to thrive in the Cambridge area.
The study showed the traditionally Christmas leaf is spreading more often from tree to tree, particularly in built up areas
