The emergency department at Addenbrooke's hospital has made it into the top ten national list for achieving the four-hour target wait. The Cambridge hospital was 7th out of 145 major A&E departments nationally for achieving the target.
The hospital says 98.6% of patients spent less than four hours in its emergency department.
They hospital added that its Perfect January initiative, where the region's health economy is working together to make sure patients have appropriate, quality and timely care, contributed to this success.
During January the department had 27% fewer GP referrals to the emergency department compared with last year.
