Almost a thousand people in the Anglia region need an organ transplant and there's a desperate shortage of donors.
- 685 people are currently on the active transplant list in the region
- 304 need a transplant but are not on the 'active' list usually because they are too ill to survive an operation
- 45 people in the region die each year while on the transplant list
- 455 people receive a transplant every year
- 2,329,067 people in Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire are on the Organ Donor Register
- More than two-thirds of the population are not signed up the the Organ Donor Register.
