Driver rescued from flooded ford
A driver had to be rescued when their car became trapped in flood waters this afternoon. It happened at around 2pm at the ford on Oudle Lane in Much Hadham in Hertfordshire.
It's understood the driver called for help when their grey Vauxhall Astra started sinking. The car was swept through the flowing water and hit a nearby bridge.
It prompted a major rescue operation, involving fire, police and ambulance crews. The Hertfordshire Air Ambulance was also called to the scene.
– Gary Sanderson, East of England Ambulance Service"Thankfully the driver was rescued and was uninjured." He added: "I must stress to motorists to avoid flooded roads and rivers as the risk is too high."
