There's fresh speculation over the future of RAF Marham in Norfolk.
It's currently home to the Tornado aircraft but when this is phased out, it's being suggested the new Joint Strike Fighter will be based at Lossiemouth in Scotland rather than Marham.
Local MP Elizabeth Truss successfully campaigned to keep Tornados in Norfolk despite competition from RAF Leuchars and Lossiemouth, and she will now press Defence Secretary Phillip Hammond to give it the thumbs up again. She believes its proximity to American bases at Lakenheath and Mildenhall gives it an important advantage.
In the nearby town of Swaffham, they're keeping their fingers crossed that Marham survives. "It' plays such an important role in the local community," says Kim Starling, who runs a florist and fruit shop.

"A lot of traders here rely very heavily on the base and we are desperate to see it stay."
The JSF is due to come into service in 2020. Despite the speculation over where it'll be based, it could be some time before a decision is made.
