A 21-year-old who stabbed another man in the midst of a drugs deal in Norwich has been jailed for 8 years. Elliot Bonney was found guilty of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and supplying Class A drugs following an incident in the early hours on 2nd September last year.
The court heard that the victim, a 36-year-old man, had arranged to meet with Bonney to buy a bag of heroin from him. The pair agreed to meet in an alleyway off Russell Street at about 1.45am where Bonney handed over a bag of heroin.
The 36-year-old reached into the back pocket of his jeans to get a £10 note but mistakenly pulled out a scrap of paper, apologising to Bonney for the mistake.
As he reached into his pocket again Bonney attacked him, stabbing him several times in the head, neck and face before running from the scene.
The victim managed to get on his bike and cycle along Old Palace Road before collapsing on Dereham Road.
Police and paramedics were called to the scene and enquiries, including mobile phone evidence, led officers to arrest Bonney.
