Medals for Afghan Army heroes
An army medic from Huntingdon in Cambridgeshire is one of several members of the British Armed 118 awards are being handed out in total.
20-year-old Lance Corporal Abbie Martin ignored Taliban bullets being fired overhead to treat a dying colleague before saving several others injured in a grenade blast.
It was her first tour of Afghanistan. She receives the Queen's Commendation for Valuable Service, which recognises meritorious service during, or in support of, operations.
