Police investigating the murder of a Clacton teenager in Colchester will be distributing appeal leaflets today following the bail extensions of seven people arrested in connection with the investigation.
Jay Whiston was stabbed at a house party on Marlowe Way shortly after 10pm on Saturday, September 8. The 17-year-old boy from Aster Close died a short time later in hospital. A provisional post-mortem examination result showed that he died from a stab wound.
Although a number of knives have been recovered from the local area, police do not believe any of them to be the murder weapon. As a result, on Saturday, March 30 officers will be in and around the Lexden area handing out flyers to residents who may be planning to take advantage of the long weekend by tending to their garden shrubs.
Seven people from Colchester are currently on police bail until Wednesday, May 22 after having been arrested in connection with this murder investigation.
