Thousands of real ale enthusiasts have been raising their glasses in Norwich today. The Campaign for Real Ale hosted its annual general meeting in the city centre. It was a chance for members to sample some of the ales and ciders brewed here in the Anglia region. Organisers say their membership now stands at 150,000 which has helped strengthen their campaign.

"We are a campaigning force in terms of what we can do to pressurise the government, pressurise other people who are interested in issues in the pub industry. We've got a bit of clout now to say 'we've got 150,000 members, do something or you're going to lose our custom'."
