MP says young children need to learn manners

Toddlers in many of Britain's nurseries are running around without a sense of purpose.

That's the claim made today by Norfolk MP and childcare minister Elizabeth Truss.

She has criticised nurseries for being unruly and lacking structured, teacher-led sessions. And she argues that small children are failing to learn good manners as a result.

So what do education experts think?.

We spoke to early years education expert Sara Knight, from Anglia Ruskin University, and asked her if she thought Liz Truss's criticism of nurseries was justified.
